Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor and control rod mill parameters (mill load, power draw, feed rate, water addition, discharge size) to meet grind size and slurry density targets.
  • •Analyze DCS/historian and on-site measurements to improve throughput, milling efficiency, and circuit performance; recommend operational parameter adjustments based on ore and plant conditions.
  • •Conduct routine inspections of mills and related systems (lubrication, pumps, cyclones, classifiers), report abnormal conditions, and support shutdown planning and troubleshooting with maintenance teams.
  • •Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and track KPIs such as power consumption, grind size, circulating load, and rod consumption; recommend corrective actions for deviations.
  • •Ensure compliance with HSE/PTW requirements; participate in risk assessments (HAZOP) and incident investigations; mentor operators and support continuous improvement trials and MOC implementation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • •5+ years of experience in grinding circuits (Rod Mill/Ball Mill) within a beneficiation or mineral processing plant.
  • •Knowledge of process control and monitoring for grinding operations.
  • •Ability to troubleshoot root causes and support equipment reliability activities.
  • •Strong commitment to HSE compliance and participation in risk assessments and change management.
