Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement next-generation distributed data storage and processing systems for the Runtime team.
  • •Contribute to projects such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Delta Pipelines to improve scalability and reliability.
  • •Develop high-performance storage services and client libraries for storing data on cloud backends (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Store).
  • •Contribute to the development of a fast, scalable query optimizer and execution engine.
  • •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer value and impact across the Databricks platform.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • •8+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala or C++.
  • •Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases.
  • •Experience with distributed systems, databases, and big data systems (Apache Spark, Hadoop).
  • •Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
