Job Summary

Provide technical leadership in polymer rheology and processing, serving as a global subject matter expert within the Materials Science and Characterization organization. Lead the Rheology and Thermal Characterization Laboratory, mentor scientists and technicians, and develop innovative experimental approaches to understand viscoelastic behavior across adhesives, coatings, films, and laminates. Partner globally with R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to solve technical challenges, evolve characterization capabilities, and communicate results through reports and technical reviews.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the global subject matter expert in polymer rheology, viscoelasticity, and polymer processing.
•Lead the Rheology and Thermal Characterization Laboratory, setting technical priorities and delivering high-quality results aligned with business needs.
•Mentor, coach, and develop scientists, engineers, and technicians to build organizational capability and technical excellence.
•Design and run experimental approaches to understand and predict material behavior under complex thermal, mechanical, chemical, and processing conditions.
•Partner with R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to solve technical challenges, evolve characterization capabilities, and communicate findings globally.

Key Requirements

•Ph.D in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
•10+ years of industrial experience in polymer rheology, soft materials characterization, polymer processing, or related fields.
•Demonstrated experience in rheological characterization of polymer melts, solutions, dispersions, adhesives, and other viscoelastic soft materials.
•Extensive hands-on experience with rotational, capillary, and extensional rheometry, plus DMA, DSC, TGA, TMA, and related techniques.
•Proven ability to solve complex technical problems using structure-process-property principles and strong written/verbal communication.
