Key Responsibilities

  • •Own DPRK & China attribution end to end, including threat-actor entities, accounts/addresses, and infrastructure (e.g., Lazarus Group, OTC and underground-banking networks).
  • •Lead attribution response to DPRK- and China-related sanctions events to produce rapid, high-visibility on-chain coverage.
  • •Map illicit networks on-chain by tracing funds through mixers, cross-chain bridges, no-KYC swaps, OTC brokers, and off-ramps.
  • •Produce finished intelligence via advisory notes, customer/partner briefings, and contributions to flagship publications.
  • •Represent Chainalysis externally on DPRK and China crypto threats and help set the DPRK & China collection agenda.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep, demonstrable DPRK and/or China expertise in crypto operations (e.g., Lazarus Group) and/or Chinese-language money laundering, OTC/underground banking, and guarantee marketplaces.
  • •Ability to perform on-chain tracing against DPRK/China targets, following hack proceeds or laundering networks on-chain.
  • •A national-security or threat-finance background (intelligence, sanctions, investigations, or related CTF/sanctions work).
  • •Strong regional fluency in DPRK and Chinese illicit-finance ecosystems; Mandarin and/or Korean language ability is a plus.
  • •Excellent writing and communication for outward-facing expert intelligence; AI-forward instincts and comfort working with data (blockchain forensics preferred).
