Job Summary

Lead electrical power systems design for Canada’s mining, metals and heavy industries. Based in Ontario, you’ll guide projects from concept through commissioning, overseeing senior-level engineering from brownfield and new construction. Mentor engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and reliable operation of power distribution, control, lighting and grounding systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design of electrical power distribution and control systems for safe, reliable industrial operations.
•Conduct power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP/EasyPower.
•Prepare specifications and data sheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers and related equipment.
•Deliver electrical systems design across power distribution, motor control, lighting, grounding and protection.
•Coordinate design activities across disciplines and offices, mentor junior staff, and build client relationships.

Key Requirements

•18+ years of electrical engineering design experience in heavy industrial facilities (mining/metals)
•Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
•Proficiency with power system modelling tools (ETAP or EasyPower) and familiarity with instrumentation, automation, and control systems
•Experience leading and mentoring electrical engineers on multidisciplinary projects
•Experience with design of power distribution, grounding, heat tracing, fire alarms, cathodic protection and related systems; able to perform field visits
