Key Responsibilities

•Lead, mentor, and scale an Amsterdam-based risk team, including coaching, goal-setting, and recruiting.
•Oversee monitoring and mitigation of credit, acquiring, and chargeback risks to keep exposures within risk appetite.
•Collaborate with Commercial, Product, and Legal to align on risk decisions and optimize merchant onboarding.
•Drive design and execution of scalable, data-driven credit risk practices and automated workflows.
•Serve as the senior escalation point for complex risk cases and high-exposure chargeback reviews.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2 years of direct people leadership experience leading risk or operations teams in payments or banking.
•Strong background in merchant acquiring risk, chargeback management, and card scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
•Proven track record managing enterprise-level portfolios.
•Ability to analyze data to identify trends and build scalable credit risk processes.
•Comfort collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and legal teams to improve risk monitoring tools and workflows.
