Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and scheduled follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Conduct advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical/electronic diagnostics, including triage and complex repair troubleshooting for Shop Diesel Technician I/II.
  • •Determine parts required per job and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department to obtain parts.
  • •Document work and findings on repair orders (including uploading pictures) and accurately complete DOT and other required forms.
  • •Follow safe operating practices and comply with federal regulations and company safety, health, and environmental policies (including OSHA, EPA, and DOT).

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as additional certification/degree and 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen months.
  • •Able to successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • •At least 21 years old and able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File with a valid driver’s license.
