Job Summary

Lead wetland field delineation and permitting across the North Mountain region, supporting federal (NEPA/USACE) and state agency requirements. Serve as the primary wetland ecologist and biologist on projects involving transmission lines, renewable energy, pipelines, and transportation, while also contributing to surveys for rare plants and sensitive species. Collaborate with an environmental project team, manage aquatic resource field surveys, and prepare and support technical reports and permit applications.

Key Responsibilities

•Support and help build the environmental project team for transmission lines, fire hardening, renewable energy, oil and gas pipelines, transportation projects, environmental surveys, NEPA analyses, and permitting services
•Lead wetland field delineation and permitting efforts throughout the North Mountain region (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon)
•Support biological field surveys, including surveys for rare plants and threatened/endangered/sensitive wildlife species
•Serve as lead wetland ecologist and biologist for permitting efforts, including federal permitting (NEPA) and state requirements
•Exercise responsible, ethical decision-making and perform additional responsibilities as business needs require

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field
•Five (5) + years leading and permitting aquatic resource delineation efforts in the field
•Five (5) + years of prior consulting experience, ideally with linear corridor projects (pipelines and/or electric transmission)
•Familiarity with USACE protocols and state survey requirements for aquatic resources
•Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in remote field conditions
