Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership and operational support for WHO’s health emergency response, including preparedness, response, and resilience actions to reduce excess morbidity and mortality.
  • •Advise provincial authorities, provincial WHO teams, Health Cluster partners, and humanitarian actors on priority public health risks and response strategies.
  • •Support continuity of essential health services and health system functionality in crisis-affected areas with focus on equity and vulnerable groups.
  • •Contribute to prevention, detection, and response to epidemic-prone diseases and public health threats, including cholera, mpox, measles, and malaria.
  • •Use reliable data and epidemiological analysis to guide decision-making; support reporting and integrated coordination across technical pillars and humanitarian sectors.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced university degree (Master’s level or above) in public health and/or a health-related field from an accredited/recognized institute.
  • •At least seven years of relevant experience in public health emergency response or health sector coordination, including outbreak management.
  • •Experience supporting capacity building and developing/promoting collaborative partnerships.
  • •Knowledge of WHO incident management system and WHO emergency response framework, including public health emergency preparedness and response.
  • •Proven ability to support coordination across national/provincial health teams, Health Cluster partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and other humanitarian actors.
