Key Responsibilities

  • •Repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems in a power plant.
  • •Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance repairs, including on-call duties as required.
  • •Execute allocated maintenance jobs independently or assist Technician Engineers, selecting required tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • •Carry out maintenance in line with EHS standards and plant operating requirements to minimize workplace accidents/incidents.
  • •Monitor repeated breakdowns and suggest and implement resolutions to prevent recurrence; direct contract workforce per agreed plans.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Craft/Trade certificate (or equivalent).
  • •5 years’ experience in a similar thermal power plant role (for diploma holders) or 8 years’ experience (for craft/trade certificate holders).
  • •Hands-on experience with GE Frame 9E/9FA gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, thermal desalination, and other BOP equipment overhauls.
  • •Knowledge of mechanical maintenance tools and methods, with ability to select tools/equipment safely.
  • •Ability to read, write, and speak English to a good standard and work effectively in a multi-cultural, shift-work environment.
