Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide daily support for developing and integrating timely global awareness and responsive support to the SOF Network for operations and crisis response.
  • •Conduct daily coordination to process Theater/Country/Special Area clearances for Special Mission Unit personnel per CJCS Charter and DoW Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • •Advise USSOCOM Director of Operations and select staff on requirements, procedures, and policy implications for deploying SMU personnel for training, exercises, and operations.
  • •Plan, coordinate, and initiate the Deployment Order process to deploy SMU personnel to regional theaters at government direction.
  • •Serve as a liaison among SMUs, Geographic Support Groups, and participants during Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Crisis Action Team execution.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Management, Administration, Program Management, Operations Research, Economics, or Social Sciences).
  • •10 years of combined Joint/SOF/interagency/regional experience working military operations in a joint, combined, and interagency environment.
  • •Knowledge of Regional Theater Special Operations Command areas of responsibility (PACOM, EUCOM, WHEM, CENTCOM, AFRICOM), policies, and special operations command relationships.
  • •Graduated from a Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) course (Intermediate Development or Senior/other JPME course).
  • •Current DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access; US citizenship required.
