Job Summary

Lead on-site mobile diesel maintenance for Cox Automotive’s fleet services, performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs. Works independently in a field/mobile setting, communicating with clients, managing repairs and parts, and ensuring safety and DOT compliance while operating within a schedule of 6am–2pm, Monday–Friday.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, and related systems on trucks; utilize test instruments and road-test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
•Document work performed, parts used, and findings in Repair Orders using company-issued devices; maintain and reconcile inventory on service trucks.
•Communicate with clients and management to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues while maintaining a high level of service quality.
•Manage daily schedule independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity within standard repair times.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED with 3 years experience in a related field or 5 years experience in a related field
•At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment

•Must be able to pass DOT background and DOT physical and have valid DOT medical card if required
