Key Responsibilities

  • •Work as part of a team of geochemists, hydrogeologists, and geologists on mining, infrastructure, remediation, and oil and gas opportunities.
  • •Conduct geochemical and hydrogeological investigations, including drilling/logging, sampling (soil, rock, groundwater, surface water, soil gas), and monitoring well installation and sampling.
  • •Design and oversee laboratory testing programs to evaluate behavior of soil, bedrock, mining waste, and anthropogenic materials.
  • •Evaluate solid and aqueous geochemistry, including inorganic/organic compounds and stable/radioactive isotopes, and interpret/report results.
  • •Support development of contaminant transport models for environmental impact assessments, remedial evaluations, and risk assessments; collaborate to develop predictive water quality models.

Key Requirements

  • •B.Sc. in Geology, Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline with an emphasis on earth and environmental sciences.
  • •Eligible or Registered as a Geoscientist-In-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) or similar association.
  • •2+ years of experience in ML/ARD assessment and development of mitigation, management, and monitoring plans for mining waste (graduate research may be considered).
  • •A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • •Willingness to complete field investigations and travel, and adjust schedules to meet project needs.
