Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and launch features that power Splunk’s core search functionalities across its product ecosystem.
  • •Build robust, fault-tolerant, highly scalable distributed systems in multi-threaded/multi-process environments.
  • •Define and perform search language layer optimizations and transformations.
  • •Analyze and improve reliability and scalability of search execution pipelines, including diagnosing and resolving customer incidents.
  • •Hire, mentor junior engineers, and grow talent on the team.

Key Requirements

  • •5 years of related experience with a technical Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience), or 3 years with a technical Master's degree (or equivalent).
  • •Proficiency in C++ and the ability to quickly learn others, especially Python, Java, or Go.
  • •Strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and software design.
  • •Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using associated tools.
  • •Experience with distributed systems (e.g., databases, file systems, storage systems) and building CI/CD systems and test automation frameworks.
