Key Responsibilities

•Productionalization: taking research code to production-ready models, building CI/CD for deployment in short iteration cycles, and improving monitoring to give engineers insight into model performance in production.
•Data: owning and coordinating team datasets, guiding data engineering efforts, and collaborating to prepare data for model training.
•Training & Experimentation: leading large-scale training and data processing projects, establishing best practices, and applying software engineering principles.
•Modeling: staying current with cutting-edge ML research and adapting methods for Zillow’s use cases to enable new product experiences.
•Dev & MLOps: establishing code quality, testing, and ownership practices, and participating in the on-call rotation.

Key Requirements

•1-3 years of professional experience building and shipping machine learning models or ML-powered systems in production
•Strong Python proficiency and experience with a modern ML framework (PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow)
•Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Kubernetes
•Experience with data engineering tools and building robust data pipelines (e.g., Spark, Airflow, streaming systems)
•Experience using backend languages such as TypeScript or Go to implement ML-powered systems end-to-end
