Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee the Office of the Data Protection Officer and manage Cloudflare’s existing privacy program to ensure compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws (including GDPR).
  • •Oversee Cloudflare’s responsible AI program elements and compliance requirements stemming from AI regulations (including the EU AI Act).
  • •Advise on EMEA subject-matter requirements for emerging AI and data protection regulations or guidance impacting Cloudflare’s business.
  • •Advise product lawyers and the Data and Privacy Operations team on privacy by design, handling data subject requests, records of processing activities, privacy and AI impact assessments, and vendor reviews.
  • •Support commercial transactions and corporate legal teams with privacy and AI-related contractual language, due diligence for M&A, and post-acquisition integration, and advise on data protection implications of security and privacy incidents.

Key Requirements

  • •LLB/JD equivalent with strong academic credentials and admission to practice law in a jurisdiction where Cloudflare has an office and/or be a U.S. or UK-qualified lawyer.
  • •10+ years of relevant legal experience counseling on international privacy and data protection issues for a global company.
  • •Expert knowledge of EMEA-region AI, privacy, and data protection laws, regulations, and compliance regimes.
  • •Solution-oriented business and legal counseling with a growth mindset.
  • •Strong communication and cooperative team skills, including the ability to draft precise, concise documents and guidance for non-lawyers.
