Key Responsibilities

  • •Read work instructions and prints for aerospace prototype and production parts, producing them in the machine shop.
  • •Program and set up 2-, 3-, 5-, and 9-axis CNC mills and lathes, including tooling creation, tool selection, and operations.
  • •Inspect parts using CMMs and hand tools, adjust machining to deliver conforming parts, and ensure start-to-finish quality and part acceptance to tight tolerances.
  • •Document builds via MES for configuration control, production issue tracking, and traceability; write non-conformance tickets for defects found or created.
  • •Procure materials and tooling as needed and assist in training new employees and other internal machine shop users.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED.
  • •3+ years machining parts for aerospace, medical, gearing, or other high-precision industries.
  • •Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills with a variety of toolpaths (including simultaneous toolpaths).
  • •Experience programming 2- and 3-axis CNC lathes with a variety of toolpaths (including part transfer operations).
  • •Knowledge of Solidworks, Fusion 360, MasterCAM (or other CAM software) and Fanuc or Siemens CNC controllers.
