Build and maintain core marketplace datasets, data marts, and feature stores that support Thumbtack’s evolving home-services products. Collaborate with product engineers, analytics, data scientists, and machine learning teams to understand data needs and integrate data-thinking into the SDLC. Drive data quality and best practices while leveraging a modern, cloud-native stack (BigQuery, dbt, Apache Airflow) and real-time data products on Apache Kafka.

Key Responsibilities

•Refine and evangelize a framework for integrating data-thinking into the software development lifecycle for product teams.
•Design, architect, and maintain core marketplace datasets, data marts, and feature stores.
•Partner with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to understand data needs and build datasets with strong engineering rigor.
•Drive data quality and best practices across different business areas.
•Help build next-generation data products using real-time data products on top of Apache Kafka.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 179,400 - 272,800 annually

Key Requirements

•4+ years of experience designing and building data sets and warehouses.
•Strong SQL skills for analytics/reporting/BI and for SQL- and Python-based transforms in an ETL pipeline.
•Experience designing, architecting, and maintaining a data warehouse and data marts that stitch together data from production databases, clickstream data, and external APIs.
•Experience building on a modern data stack using BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow (or a similar cloud-native stack).
•Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders, especially Analytics, to identify opportunities for process improvements across teams.
