Job Summary

Lead TikTok’s North America regulatory legal strategy and execution across the United States and Canada. Advise senior executives on high-stakes regulatory matters, oversee engagement with regulators and government agencies, and translate evolving laws into practical compliance and business plans. Build and manage a regional regulatory team, drive regulatory input into investigations and inquiries, and partner with Public Policy, Compliance, Trust & Safety, Product, Privacy, and Security to enable responsible innovation.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and lead TikTok’s North American regulatory legal strategy, aligning legal guidance to business objectives and evolving requirements.
•Advise senior executives and business leaders on high-stakes North American regulatory issues with clear, actionable, risk-aware guidance.
•Oversee engagement with regulators and government agencies across the region and ensure positions are aligned with legal obligations.
•Monitor and anticipate emerging laws and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business strategies.
•Build, manage, and develop a regional team; lead regulatory input into investigations, inquiries, and examinations; and drive scalable processes, policies, and training for compliance.

Key Requirements

•Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record.
•Significant experience advising on North America regulatory matters with deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulatory frameworks for technology platforms and consumer-facing products.
•Experience engaging with government regulators, lawmakers, and industry bodies in North America.
•Strong ability to align regulatory compliance with business strategy and identify/mitigate regulatory risk across complex regional markets.
•Experience managing regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, inquiries, and high-stakes crises, including cross-functional policy adoption.
