Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and improve query understanding capabilities for search across regions and languages, including spelling correction, normalization, rewriting, intent detection, and semantic retrieval.
  • •Build and evaluate vector search, embedding, and retrieval models to improve product discovery relevance.
  • •Lead Arabic-language search initiatives, handling dialectal variation, orthographic normalization, transliteration, morphology, mixed-language queries, and spelling errors.
  • •Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data from queries, product content, user interactions, and linguistic signals.
  • •Design offline evaluation and quality metrics, run online A/B experiments, monitor production performance, and iterate based on regressions and feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional working proficiency in Arabic, including grammar, morphology, spelling conventions, dialectal variation, and common search-query behavior.
  • •Practical experience with modern NLP methods such as transformer-based language models, text embeddings, semantic search, retrieval, reranking, query understanding, or spelling correction.
  • •Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or Hugging Face Transformers.
