Job Summary

Design, implement, and optimize advanced control strategies for power plants and industrial processes. Own PID loop tuning across boiler, drum level, combustion, and feedwater control; improve steam temperature, combustion, heat rate, and load optimization; and develop unit rate and turbine governor tuning. Lead Emerson Ovation DCS commissioning, integrate new MPC strategies, and apply fuzzy logic with PID/MPC to improve stability, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

•Innovate and optimize PID loops for combustion, drum level, and feedwater control with intelligent load-sharing strategies.
•Improve steam temperature control using strategies such as spray attemperation and reheater tuning to reduce thermal stress and extend plant longevity.
•Drive advanced combustion optimization by tuning air-fuel ratios, enhancing emissions control, and optimizing burner management for heat rate and flame stability.
•Develop unit rate and load optimization strategies, including heat rate optimization and turbine governor tuning to increase fuel efficiency and grid stability.
•Implement brand new MPC strategies and lead Emerson Ovation DCS commissioning while integrating advanced control approaches (including fuzzy logic) with DCS/PLC systems.

•Bachelor’s or Master’s (or equivalent) in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field.
•5-15+ years of hands-on experience in power plant control, process automation, and advanced control strategies.
•Deep expertise in control system engineering, power plant automation, and turbine control for seamless process optimization.
•Proven proficiency in PID tuning, boiler tuning, and process modeling for efficiency and reliability.
•Extensive hands-on experience with Emerson Ovation DCS commissioning and fixing, plus mastery of MPC, multivariable control, and fuzzy logic control.
