Key Responsibilities

  • •Determine welded product conformity to customer specifications via daily surveillance and ITP inspection points per the Project Quality Plan.
  • •Verify welding activities against approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • •Monitor fit-up, joint preparation, welding consumables control, preheat, and interpass temperature; perform visual inspections before, during, and after welding.
  • •Coordinate and witness NDE team activities (RT, UT/PAUT, MT, PT) and ensure welding non-conformities are documented with NCRs and closed with corrective/preventive actions.
  • •Maintain welding inspection records, NDE reports, and quality documentation; coordinate with operations, engineering, certifying authorities, client representatives, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to support stage release.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or a degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical discipline.
  • •5+ years of welding inspection or quality control experience with a degree, or 8+ years with a diploma.
  • •Preferred certification: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent welding inspection certification.
  • •Working knowledge of international welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, ISO 3834, ISO 5817, API RP2A) and project-specific requirements.
  • •Experience with fabrication/offshore structures and familiarity with welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW), plus NDE method interpretation.
