Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform, acting as the domain CTO for the POS device application layer.
  • •Build and govern the platform pillars: developer experience, platform reliability, foundational frameworks, and squad adoption across POS engineers.
  • •Define and enforce engineering standards across POS device types and OEM manufacturers to ensure consistency and quality across a heterogeneous fleet.
  • •Functionally lead POS engineers embedded across Payments, Onboarding, VAS, Savings, and Loans squads, setting the bar for engineering quality.
  • •Own POS observability end-to-end (monitoring, alerting, incident response) and scale the platform team through hiring, mentoring, and process/tooling improvements.

  • •10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 6+ years leading engineering teams through meaningful growth phases.
  • •Direct, hands-on experience building software that runs on Point-of-Sale terminal devices (application layer on the device).
  • •Strong knowledge of EMV standards and experience navigating payment certification processes such as PCI DSS and P2PE.
  • •Deep Android engineering expertise in Kotlin and Java for POS application development.
  • •Experience building internal engineering platforms or foundational frameworks used by other teams, with cross-device governance across multiple POS types and OEMs.
