Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, organize, and conduct Combat Systems and Operations training programs for personnel at SCSTC Det SW, using classroom and scenario-based shipboard lab instruction.
  • •Provide advanced instruction and assessment requiring knowledge of U.S. Navy Aegis and SSDS combat systems capabilities and limitations.
  • •Use SSDS simulation software and tools to review capabilities/limitations, conceptualize defensive systems employment, and integrate engagement doctrine in dynamic tactical environments.
  • •Conduct dynamic assessments of sailors’ performance against approved procedures and Battle Orders, providing formal appraisals and recommendations for improvement.
  • •Prepare, review, and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides; conduct training gap analysis, document training outcomes, and maintain training records and program effectiveness.

Key Requirements

  • •Seven (7) years of experience across combat systems tactical employment, including planning and direction of Navy Surface, Air and Subsurface Warfare mission requirements and shipboard combat operations.
  • •At least one (1) year as an Instructor/Trainer/Evaluator in a Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE), including curriculum maintenance, learning objectives, test item preparation, and counseling students.
  • •Experience with SSDS training simulators such as Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT), SSDS Training Stimulator Simulator System (TSSS), Battle Force Electronic Warfare Trainer (BEWT)/Surface Electronic Warfare Team Trainer (SEWTT), and Afloat Training Domain (ATD).
  • •In-depth knowledge of U.S. Navy Aegis and SSDS combat systems capabilities and limitations to support advanced teaching, assessment, and performance appraisal.
  • •Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work/military experience.
