Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services across the full project lifecycle from feasibility to construction.
  • •Coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs and manage projects to ensure compatibility across varying scale, complexity, and value.
  • •Provide client-facing advice by liaising with clients, proactively managing expectations, and acting as a technical lead/reviewer.
  • •Prepare fee proposals, manage budgets, and develop discrete and overall project solutions.
  • •Lead and manage delivery of design drawings, construction details/specifications, bill of quantities, support tender packages, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation, and quality assurance standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant knowledge and experience in highway design and/or drainage systems across the project lifecycle.
  • •Experience leading one or more design disciplines on relevant projects (e.g., road, public transport, active travel, public/private development).
  • •Ability to direct/check design outputs using software including Autodesk Civils 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, and PDS.
  • •Knowledge and application of relevant design codes (e.g., Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, and local authority guidance) and preparation of contract documentation drawings and approvals.
  • •Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer (or working towards Chartership) with post-professional experience, including complying with Designers Duties under CDM regulations.
