Job Summary

Join xAI's data center controls team as a hands-on engineer responsible for operating, designing, and optimizing the data center infrastructure. You will implement and modify BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems, oversee chillers/pumps/PDUs, develop HMI graphics, support fire safety and ESOP procedures, build dashboards for PUE and cost performance, and coordinate with utilities on grid-responsive automation.

Job Function: Industrial, Process & Manufacturing Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Executing the implementation and modification of Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Management System (EPMS), and other SCADA systems critical for current and future data centers
•Overseeing the operation of critical systems such as chillers, pumps, and power distribution using PLCs and other industrial control technologies
•Preparing specifications for Human-machine Interface (HMI) including graphics standards for interpretation by Grok
•Implementing and maintaining automated controls for fire safety and emergency shutdown procedures (ESOP)
•Developing a corporate-level reporting dashboard to monitor operational trends (PUE, performance/cost) and dynamically adjust infrastructure set points

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Controls/Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent)
•5+ years of hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer working with industrial control systems
•Ignition SCADA programming experience
•Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming experience
•Strong ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and to pass pre-employment drug testing
