Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead mechanical design of the next module or chassis brought to market for high-port-per-rack networking equipment.
  • •Explore and implement design solutions across structural, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, and documentation.
  • •Create drawings and 3D files in Creo 3D CAD for prototyping and manufacturing, including critical-to-function dimensions.
  • •Manage product release and change with lifecycle management tools (Agile) and maintain BOM structures.
  • •Coordinate peer and cross-functional design reviews; provide ECAD/PCB documentation to electrical teams and work with CMs/suppliers to address DFM concerns; validate prototypes in the lab and communicate manufacturing issues.

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering plus 7 years’ experience.
  • •Mechanical design experience for computer/network equipment operating in data centers.
  • •Experience with ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes; Agile experience is a plus.
  • •Hands-on experience with thermal simulation and air flow testing; liquid cooling systems experience is a plus.
  • •Experience with mechanical testing (shock, vibe, EMC) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
