Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and controls equipment.
  • •Maintain and verify proper operation of control systems by diagnosing and correcting operating perturbations through maintenance and calibration.
  • •Perform maintenance on microprocessor, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic instrumentation and control systems.
  • •Comply with equipment clearances and radiological work permits for instrument and control maintenance assignments.
  • •Complete the I&C Technician Apprentice-Shift Training Program training commitments and keep calibration/maintenance areas and equipment safe and orderly, while completing required documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Two year post-high school relevant education or equivalent experience in an applicable field.
  • •Pass the Instrument and Control Technician Apprentice qualification test and EEI standardized test.
  • •Demonstrated work knowledge of electronic equipment and circuitry, including some knowledge of magnetic amplifier equipment.
  • •Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and control circuits and interpret simple sketches, prints, and written instructions.
  • •Must be physically able and willing to work in radiation fields and make containment entries, including carrying minimum 50 pounds of tooling and equipment.
