Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform payroll tax quality control reviews to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
  • •Monitor payroll tax processes to identify compliance risks, control gaps, exceptions, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • •Review payroll tax reconciliations and related documentation (including unemployment accounts) for accuracy and completeness.
  • •Support resolution of tax notices, agency inquiries, audits, and compliance issues by researching, documenting, and tracking corrective actions.
  • •Develop and enhance payroll tax procedures and controls, conduct root-cause analysis, and support quarter-end/year-end and W-2 processing activities with audit-ready documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • •Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll tax, payroll operations, compliance, auditing, internal controls, or related areas.
  • •Experience in a multi-state, multi-company payroll environment.
  • •Experience with payroll, tax, and ERP systems such as SAP, ADP SmartCompliance, Workday, Oracle, or UKG.
  • •Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification (preferred).
