Support the Southern Germany Public Sector sales team by handling technical matters in pre-sales, demonstrations, PoCs and post-sales activities, leveraging Fortinet security and networking expertise to articulate value and drive opportunities in a regional district.

Job Function: IT Operations (Systems/Network Admin)

Key Responsibilities

•Understand the Fortinet portfolio and demonstrate/articulate technical and business value.
•Demonstrate strong foundational knowledge in security and networking technologies, focusing on FortiOS-based products.
•Act as Subject Matter Expert for an assigned technical domain within the district; manage use cases, competitive intelligence, and differentiation; integrate 3rd party solutions.
•Create sales opportunities by identifying customer problems and qualifying technical leads; identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
•Lead all aspects of the technical sales engagement—from queries to demos, RfX, and PoCs; provide architecture and implementation design guidance.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-sales support with proven success.
•Expert level knowledge in networking (LAN, WIFI, WAN, SDN, routing, switching) and network security (Next-Gen Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, encryption protocols).
•Strong customer focus with a proactive, goal-driven approach and ability to manage shifting priorities.
•Knowledge of additional domains is a plus (Datacentre architectures, security architectures, DevOps/IaC, cloud architectures, SIEM, EU data regulations).
•Deep experience in installation and configuration of network devices, systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows), virtualized environments, public clouds, and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Python with APIs).
