Key Responsibilities

  • •Own inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and in-transit inventory, ensuring accurate valuation and capitalization of landed costs.
  • •Support standard costing methodology, variance analysis, and cost integrity, and manage the Allowance for Inventory Reserve process and controls for obsolescence and inventory aging.
  • •Own or support the revenue and receivables month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and analyses to ensure appropriate revenue recognition and financial statement accuracy.
  • •Prepare and review general accounting journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses; design and implement scalable processes and internal controls for close and compliance.
  • •Lead and develop a small team, partner cross-functionally (e.g., Supply Chain, Tech, Wholesale), and act as a key contact for external auditors on inventory and revenue testing.

Key Requirements

  • •5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience focused on inventory and cost accounting, including some people leadership experience.
  • •CPA required or actively pursuing.
  • •Solid understanding of inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis in a retail, apparel, e-commerce, or CPG environment.
  • •Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition in a multi-channel retail environment.
  • •Strong ERP experience required; NetSuite strongly preferred, plus advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced functions).
