Key Responsibilities

•Develop and check hydraulic models using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM to assist design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies.
•Develop water quality models (physico-chemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical) using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM.
•Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each project.
•Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion-pound framework contracts.

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, and/or TUFLOW).
•Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for Flood Risk Assessments.
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline; near to obtaining CIWEM or similar professional qualification.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Practical knowledge of scripting programmes such as Python, Anaconda, Ruby would be advantageous.
