Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the Data Platform roadmap, architecture, and budget across ingestion, storage, transformation, and delivery.
  • •Lead warehouse and lakehouse decisions (Snowflake, Databricks) with explicit cost/performance/lock-in trade-offs.
  • •Set SLAs for production pipelines and build observability (data-quality tests, lineage, freshness/volume alerts, paging) with 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • •Deliver licensed data feeds on daily SLAs and supply clean modeled data for Studio, crosstabs, and AI agents.
  • •Enforce hashed-PII handling and retention/consent rules in pipelines; partner on access control, audit logging, and privacy compliance.
  • •Hire, coach, and retain data engineers; translate data risk into business terms for the executive team.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years in data engineering, including 5+ years leading data engineering teams.
  • •Hands-on depth in Python and SQL, with production experience using Snowflake and/or Databricks (Spark) on AWS.
  • •Experience running data pipelines under external SLAs for data sold or delivered to customers.
  • •Built data-quality and observability programs, including automated tests, lineage, alerting, and on-call.
  • •Experience with privacy/security controls for hashed PII under CCPA/CPRA (and other U.S. state privacy laws).
