Job Summary

Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to support excavation, grading, trenching, loading, and site preparation. Dig and maintain trenches for utilities and drainage, load trucks and move materials, and perform fine grading when required. Read and interpret grade stakes, construction plans, and specifications, coordinate with crew members and other operators, and meet production goals. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, monitor equipment performance, perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance, and follow OSHA and company safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate excavators safely and efficiently for excavation, grading, trenching, and material placement.
•Dig and maintain trenches for utilities, drainage systems, and underground infrastructure.
•Load trucks, move materials, and assist with site development and earthwork activities.
•Read and interpret grade stakes, construction plans, and project specifications to complete work accurately.
•Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, monitor equipment performance, and perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance while following OSHA and company safety policies.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2 years operating excavators in construction, site development, heavy civil, utility, or earthwork projects (preferred).
•Experience working around underground utilities (preferred).

•Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, and grading techniques.
•Knowledge of safe excavator operating practices and construction site safety.
