Job Summary

Lead and scale a distributed Solutions Architecture team across Australia & New Zealand in a player-coach role. Drive technical strategy through complex sales motions by running evaluations, executive workshops, demos, and proof-of-concepts that connect GitLab’s DevSecOps platform to customer business outcomes. Partner with Sales, Channel, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Product, and the global Solutions Architecture organization to build operating rhythms, strengthen executive relationships, and improve forecasting and execution.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage a team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects across ANZ, setting direction and enabling high-quality execution.
•Act as a player-coach by partnering on strategic opportunities and coaching through complex sales cycles to secure technical wins.
•Guide regional technical engagement strategy across evaluations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts to produce business outcomes.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Channel, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Product Management, and the global Solutions Architecture team.
•Maintain operational discipline (workload planning, resource and headcount planning, opportunity forecasting) and define KPIs while hiring, developing, and retaining team members.

•Experience managing technical teams in software or technology sales, pre-sales, consulting, or a related environment, with direct experience in the Australia & New Zealand market.
•Strong background in solution architecture, translating technical depth into customer business value and learning GitLab and related tools.
•Proven success developing, mentoring, and scaling Solutions Architecture practices or similar customer-facing technical organizations.
•Strong communication and technical presentation skills across cultures and with technical and business stakeholders.
•Demonstrated business acumen and judgment, influencing cross-functional stakeholders and building scalable, inclusive operating practices in a distributed/remote environment.
