Key Responsibilities

  • •Own control architecture for the machine and test rigs, covering compressor, motor drive, expansion turbine, and the full loop.
  • •Write safety interlocks and fault handling for working fluids that can cross the critical point within normal operating range.
  • •Deliver capacity control via motor/turbine speed rather than throttling valves, maintaining a valve-free process path at the design point.
  • •Validate control systems with hardware-in-the-loop and prove interlock behavior before real hardware operation.
  • •Integrate controls from the test cell into production chillers, including site BMS and plant-level integration.

Key Requirements

  • •Written control logic for rotating machinery with hands-on experience during first runs.
  • •Designed safety interlocks for faults that could destroy hardware or injure people, with first-principles justification.
  • •Ran hardware-in-the-loop testing that caught real issues before commissioning.
  • •Tuned control loops on a live machine and explained discrepancies between models and the plant.
  • •Handover a control system to others with documentation usable in production.
