Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia and promote a safety-first culture.
  • •Provide technical support and operational targets to Mill Operations to ensure dam integrity and tailings deposition meets design and storage requirements.
  • •Lead and direct large, complex, and/or multidisciplinary TSF capital construction projects and liaise with the Engineer of Record and Gibraltar tailings management team.
  • •Review technical proposals, design work, and report packages; monitor data to ensure deposition plan compliance; update TSF O&M/Surveillance manual.
  • •Oversee reporting related to deposition, quality control, site water balance, and manage contractors and external resources; mentor Engineers-in-Training.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or other related field of Engineering.
  • •Professional Engineer Designation (P.Eng.) registered with or eligible to transfer to EGBC.
  • •At least 5-7 years of experience related to tailings storage design/management within the mining industry.
  • •Project management experience.
  • •Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
