Job Summary

Build and operate shared GenAI platform infrastructure that enables product teams at Pleo to ship AI features. You’ll design and deliver components like an LLM routing gateway, vector search and RAG infrastructure, MCP/tooling gateways, and evaluation and observability tooling for reliability, drift detection, and cost tracking. Own production-quality delivery end-to-end while collaborating closely with applied AI and product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and operate core GenAI platform components including an LLM routing gateway, vector search/RAG infrastructure, MCP/tool registry, and agentic workflow infrastructure.
•Own production-quality delivery from design through rollout, monitoring, and follow-up.
•Contribute to resilient system design including APIs, failure handling, rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and safe change management.
•Improve reliability and observability with metrics, dashboards, alerting, incident follow-ups, and operational improvements.
•Create SDKs, templates, and guardrails, and support engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical feedback, and documentation.

Key Requirements

•Strong backend/systems engineering experience delivering and operating production services with reliability and observability requirements.

•Distributed systems fundamentals, including async workflows, idempotency, and designing for failure.
•Hands-on experience with LLM APIs or strong interest in their production failure modes, plus security mindset for prompt injection, PII, and credential handling.
