Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage all aspects of the grade control program, including data validation and database management.
  • •Verify grade control ore markouts in the field and liaise with the plant to meet ore quality parameters, recoveries, and ore blending strategies.
  • •Manage a team of field technicians in pit to achieve daily blend plans and direct mined ore to correct destinations; manage stockpile inventory and reporting.
  • •Manage the RC grade control drilling program, including drill pattern practicality and evaluation of geological features in the Kansanshi deposit.
  • •Oversee sampling and QA/QC, manage drilling contractors, and ensure secure, accurate flow of sample data from pit through the lab into the database.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Science (Geology) or a Bachelor’s degree plus Honours in geology or mining geology, or equivalent.
  • •At least 3-5 years of experience in Mining Geology.
  • •Base metals and open pit experience preferred.
  • •Familiarity with Surpac, Data mine, or Map info/Discover 3D.
  • •Knowledge of LIMS systems (advantageous).
