Job Summary

Support the development, delivery, and maintenance of a Project Product Safety Management System and Product Safety Case. Own safety management processes and plans across the project lifecycle, perform hazard and risk identification and mitigation, maintain the hazard log, and develop evidence-based safety arguments. Apply STEM knowledge to interpret complex technical data across submarine design, manufacturing, commissioning, and testing, while completing peer reviews and assurance activities to demonstrate safety-case robustness.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System, ensuring safety processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with engineering and programme requirements.
•Support the production and maintenance of Project Safety Management Plans across the project lifecycle.
•Undertake product safety hazard and risk identification, assessment, and management across operational and environmental conditions.
•Develop the Project Product Safety Case, including Safety Case Reports and evidence-based technical safety arguments.
•Administer and maintain the Project Hazard Log and complete peer reviews, verification, and assurance activities.

•Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience in engineering or safety-critical environments.
•Experience in product safety, safety case development, or safety management systems.

•Experience producing or contributing to safety cases, hazard logs, or assurance documentation.
