Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead definition, evolution, and governance of Eaton’s power systems modeling strategy across multifidelity levels.
  • •Develop and own power system study models including protection coordination, load flow, short circuit behavior, harmonics/power quality, transient stability, and resilience/blast radius analysis.
  • •Build scalable model structures and reusable libraries using PSCAD and Simulink/Simscape Electrical, and lead multitool workflows for electrical and multiphysics studies.
  • •Embed modeling insights into architecture selection, requirement definition, design tradeoffs, and validation with system architects and MBE teams.
  • •Coordinate cross-group modeling activities (e.g., ERL, CDE, divisional engineering teams) and support real-time/HIL validation and modeling governance/documentation standards.

Salary: USD 180,000 - 225,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Power Electronics from an accredited institution.
  • •Minimum 15 years of experience in power systems modeling, including EMT simulation and system-level analysis for converter-dominated architectures.
  • •Experience using PSCAD and Simulink/Simscape Electrical as primary environments for power system and EMT simulations.
  • •Experience with DC distribution systems, converter behavior, protection strategies, and grid/microgrid interconnection principles.
  • •Experience with real-time/HIL validation platforms such as OpalRT, Typhoon HIL, or ETDS (and/or other listed power simulation tools).
