Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections with follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • •Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer systems including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers, and welding/fabrication as needed.
  • •Inspect, test, and road test defective equipment; use diagnostic instruments to identify malfunctions and determine accurate solutions.
  • •Maintain the service vehicle, manage parts inventory and reconcile as needed, document work/ROs (including DOT forms), and coordinate approvals with management support.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide a current DOT medical card with sufficient remaining validity).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with 3 YR MVR review required; maintain Driver Qualification File.
