Key Responsibilities

•Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following project-specific style guides
•Apply conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, and non-speech events
•Make orthographic decisions for dialectal and code-switched speech and flag ambiguous segments
•Self-review submissions against Perle’s quality standards before delivery and engage with QA reviewers on edge cases
•Collaborate with linguistic leads and QA to calibrate guidelines and improve annotation quality

Key Requirements

•Native fluency in Azerbaijani with lifelong residence or deep immersion in your declared variety
•At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience
•Ability to distinguish North and South Azerbaijani in mixed audio and to transcribe code-switching with Russian (Northern) or Persian (Southern)
•Reliable high-speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace
•Ability to commit to defined volume per week during active project phases
