Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a trusted advisor to multinational clients on corporate reputation, campaigning, and strategic communications; lead integrated communications strategies using research and insights.
  • •Provide investor and capital markets expertise, guiding clients’ engagement with buy and sell-side stakeholders, stock exchange stakeholders, and institutional/retail/government shareholders.
  • •Support special situations including government affairs, crisis management, ESG, M&A, restructurings, and other critical workstreams.
  • •Lead account delivery by managing a team of experts to ensure high-quality client servicing; act as main point of contact and coach/mentor junior team members.
  • •Drive business development by building a network of new client/prospect relationships, leading proposals, participating in pitch meetings, and managing project delivery and costing.

Key Requirements

  • •10-15 years of experience in corporate or financial communications, investor relations, corporate planning, compliance, investment banking, or strategic advisory, including at least five years in a Japanese corporate environment.
  • •Proven track record building and activating high-stakes relationships with Japanese and international media, with strong knowledge of Japanese media.
  • •Native-level Japanese proficiency with excellent Japanese writing and presentation skills, plus business-level English fluency.
  • •Strong numerical and analytical skills with logical thinking, and the ability to take personal responsibility for quality and deadline delivery under pressure.
  • •A bachelor’s degree ideally in business, journalism, communications, public policy, finance, or economics (postgraduate degree advantageous), plus advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel).
