Job Summary

Lead standalone SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) management at the Heanor Sales & Premix production site, ensuring compliance with corporate SHE standards and UK legislation. Develop, implement, and monitor the site SHE Management System and report performance to site management. Serve as the responsible person under COMAH regulations, lead HSE intervention visits, and support audits/inspections. Drive continuous improvement through audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations while providing SHE and Security support across the site.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as stand-alone SHE Manager, ensuring compliance with corporate SHE standards and UK legislation.
•Develop, implement, and monitor the SHE Management System and report performance/compliance to site management.
•Act as the responsible person under COMAH regulations, leading HSE intervention visits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
•Provide expert technical and organizational support on SHE and Security across the site.
•Drive continuous improvement through audits, risk assessments, and SHE incident investigations, including process safety system auditing (e.g., Permit to Work, LOTOTO) and regulator/audit engagement.

Key Requirements

•Hold a qualification in Safety/Environment Management (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or an Environmental Management Certification).
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant process safety in a chemical or similar industrial environment.
•Strong understanding of COMAH Regulations and DSEAR.
•Knowledge of (or qualification in) Quality Management is desirable.
•Proven managerial experience (projects and/or people), excellent communication and IT skills, and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
