Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the finance function for the Malta regulated entity and support the wider European business.
  • •Own statutory and regulatory reporting, including prudential submissions and accuracy of information filed with supervisory authorities.
  • •Serve as senior finance representative to European regulators for routine supervision, information requests, examinations, and remediation.
  • •Manage prudential obligations including own funds, capital adequacy, liquidity, and safeguarding of customer funds.
  • •Lead finance planning, forecasting, budgeting, unit economics, and financial analysis for pricing, investments, and market-entry decisions; build and develop the Malta finance team and represent finance to board, auditors, and regulators.

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years of finance experience in European financial services, including significant senior finance leadership experience.
  • •Direct accountability for the finance function of a regulated European entity, covering statutory reporting, prudential submissions, and supervisory engagement.
  • •Track record with European regulators across authorisation and regulatory reporting, examinations, or remediation.
  • •Regulatory experience across two or more: MiCA/crypto-asset services, payment institutions and electronic money institutions, MiFID investment services, and banking.
  • •Deep expertise in IFRS and local statutory reporting, consolidation, external audit, and month-end close; ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA (or equivalent).
