Key Responsibilities

  • •Work on tunnelling and underground structures projects across a range of sectors, including water transfer tunnels, highway tunnels, rail, mining, airport infrastructure, and power tunnels.
  • •Apply civil, structural and geotechnical knowledge gained throughout your degree to project work.
  • •Contribute to feasibility studies and optioneering through preliminary and detailed design, with a focus on safe construction.
  • •Support tunnel, shaft and cavern designs in hard and soft ground using varied construction methods.
  • •In time, lead small projects or elements of larger projects and advise other team members, while building client relationships through effective communication.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering with a 2:1 classification or above (or equivalent).
  • •Interest in tunnelling projects and promoting tunnelling activities across transport and utility sectors.
  • •Be willing and able to work towards a professional qualification (ICE or IStructE).
  • •Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing, and structure/prioritise work effectively.
  • •Ability to apply civil, structural and geotechnical knowledge, including resolving complex engineering problems; construction experience through your degree is advantageous.
