Key Responsibilities

  • •Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring site-specific HSE policies and safe work procedures are consistently followed.
  • •Monitor and supervise geotechnical drilling investigations using auger, sonic, mud rotary, CPT, and specialty drilling techniques.
  • •Classify soil samples and perform field testing of soils and groundwater to support project investigations and design.
  • •Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot geotechnical instrumentation systems and configure data loggers/telemetry for remote monitoring.
  • •Coordinate contractors and validate construction monitoring findings (subgrade, foundation, pile inspections), then compile data and prepare reports for stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 81,800 - 118,900 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Completion of a Geological, Construction, or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma Program.
  • •Minimum of 7 years of geotechnical field experience, including geotechnical drilling and instrumentation installation.
  • •Strong experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems.
  • •Experience working within the Alberta Oil Sands region is considered an asset.
  • •Valid and unrestricted Alberta Class 5 Driver's License, with commitment to safe field operations.
