Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead a team of four staff to deliver quality care and education for children within the EYFS (Birth to Five) framework.
  • •Coordinate the daily running of the group, including routines, parental wishes, and producing staff job charts to meet staffing requirements.
  • •Support child assessment profiles, ensuring they are maintained and stored appropriately, and monitor individual staff performance.
  • •Build and maintain positive relationships with children and parents/carers, including discussing concerns and supporting a smooth transition between home and nursery.
  • •Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene, and nursery policies/procedures are followed, including risk assessments and documentation; cover nursery operations in the absence of senior managers.

Key Requirements

  • •BTEC/NVQ 3 in a relevant subject / NNEB qualification (or equivalent).
  • •GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or 4 or above (or equivalent level 2).
  • •Previous experience of working in a nursery setting.
  • •Knowledge of the EYFS Birth to Five framework and developments in early years education.
  • •Understanding of child protection procedures, health and safety, and the ability to positively manage staff as a role model.
