Job Summary

Own process development and material characterization for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) nickel superalloys used in next-generation rocket engines. Partner daily with design and manufacturing teams to optimize LPBF parameters, develop thermal/mechanical properties, and improve reliability. Conduct failure analysis using fractography and metallography, perform technical reviews for drawings and specifications, and collaborate across experts to solve complex materials and processing challenges for current and next-generation vehicles.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering or another engineering discipline with an emphasis on materials.
•1+ years of professional experience developing or qualifying laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) processes for nickel-based superalloys (e.g., Inconel 718, 625).
•Direct experience with LPBF parameter development, build optimization, and post-processing (HIP, heat treatment, surface finishing).
•Experience with metallurgical characterization and mechanical testing of additively manufactured nickel alloys.
•Understanding of mechanical testing methods for metals, including fracture and fatigue.
